Leopold Pasemann, owner of an auto parts factory, is looking for an heir. Since he has no children of his own, he makes an offer to his late brother's two sons and daughter: each will receive a check for 5,000 marks. Whoever makes the most of it in a year will be appointed as his universal heir.
