Sefer, a fisherman from the village of Mitari in Rize, is in love with a girl named Zekiye. Although Zekiye loves him, she refuses to marry Sefer because she finds him rude. However, Sefer kidnaps her and takes her by force, and Zekiye, unable to bear this insult to her pride, runs away from home.
